Napoli signs Paris Olympic champion
Napoli signed Miguel Gutierrez, the left-back from Spanish club Girona, on Tuesday.
The Italian champions did not disclose the transfer fee for Gutierrez, 24, but reports indicate that the player signed a five-year contract for €18 million.
The former Real Madrid player excelled with Girona the season before last, when the Catalan club finished third in La Liga and led the table until last January, when they were overtaken by the Spanish capital club and then by Barcelona, who finished runners-up.
The Spaniard Gutierrez made six appearances in Girona's Champions League debut last season, scoring in the only league win against Slovan Bratislava. He also won gold with Spain at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
