Formula 1 Movie Starring Brad Pitt to Have its Premiere in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi is gearing up to host the regional premiere of "F1 The Movie," an Apple Original Films production starring American actor Brad Pitt, in a major cinematic event on June 25, one day before its official release in Middle Eastern cinemas. The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski (director of "Top Gun: Maverick") and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and British Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton.
Brad Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a veteran Formula 1 driver who returns to the track in a dramatic attempt to prove himself, alongside Javier Bardem and Damson Idris. Many scenes were filmed during real Formula 1 races, most notably at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.
Filming in the UAE capital spanned 29 days across three phases, including locations such as Zayed International Airport and twofour54 studios, with the participation of 284 local crew members and 15 trainees, and with the support of the Abu Dhabi Film Commission.
