Real Madrid Wins Second Friendly

Real Madrid's first team won their second pre-season friendly on Saturday, defeating Hungarian side Ferencváros 2-1 at the Groupama Arena in Budapest.

Real Madrid took the lead in the 41st minute through a goal from academy defender Mario Rivas. In the second half, 21-year-old striker Carlos Espí, recently signed from Levante, doubled their advantage. Ferencváros pulled one back in the 57th minute through Bosnian striker Kenan Kodro.

The Real Madrid squad included new signing Bernardo Silva, right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior (who extended his contract until 2032 on Thursday), midfielders Arda Güler and Federico Valverde, and several young and reserve players to assess their physical and technical readiness. The match came at the end of the fourth week of intensive pre-season training under the guidance of new manager José Mourinho, in his second stint with the team, ahead of the official start of the new season, which kicks off with a league match against Espanyol on August 22.

The previous friendly against Fiorentina, on August 1, at the Wörthersee Stadium in Klagenfurt, Austria, ended in a 2-2 draw.
