Atletico Madrid extends Giuliano's contract until 2030

Atletico Madrid extended the contract of their Argentine winger Giuliano Simeone until 2030 on Thursday, including a €500 million release clause.

This move secures the future of the 23-year-old Simeone as fans await the outcome of his father, coach Diego Simeone's, contract extension with the club.

Giuliano has become a key player for Atletico since returning from his loan spell at Deportivo Alaves 18 months ago, delivering a series of impressive performances, scoring three goals and providing seven assists in 27 appearances across all competitions.

This impressive form has earned him a place in the Argentine national team, where he has made nine international appearances and scored one goal. The player joined Atlético's academy in 2019 and remained with the youth teams until the summer of 2022, when he moved to the Juvenil A team, which won the 5th group of the 2020-21 Segunda División. He made his debut for the reserve team that same season, playing 15 matches.

The following season, he continued playing for the reserve team, making 36 appearances and scoring 24 goals. This achievement not only earned him the top scorer title in the 7th group of the Segunda División but also helped the team gain promotion to the Segunda División.

Furthermore, on April 20, 2022, he made his first-team debut in a league match against Granada at the Riyad Air Metropolitano Stadium.

Juliano spent two seasons on loan at Real Zaragoza (2022-23) and Deportivo Alavés (2023-24) before returning to Atlético to become a regular starter for the first team. Since then, he has participated in 77 matches, scoring eight goals and providing 16 assists.
