Dozen Goals in 7 Victories: Duran's Contribution with the Yellows
The goals of Colombian striker Jon Duran, Al-Nassr's first football team, contributed to seven victories, both local and continental, before his one-season loan to Fenerbahçe on Sunday.
The Colombian scored 12 goals in 18 appearances for the Yellows, helping the team win five rounds of the Saudi Roshen League and two matches in the AFC Champions League.
Duran, who is leaving the club on loan, has scored five braces with the team, scored against Al-Fayha, Al-Ahli, Al-Okhdood, Esteghlal Tehran, and Yokohama F. Marinos. He also scored one goal against Al-Khulud and another against Al-Khaleej.
None of his dozen goals for Al-Nassr were from penalty kicks, with six assists coming from his strong left foot, five from his right, and one from a header. Al-Nassr signed Duran for five and a half seasons, having purchased his contract from English side Aston Villa during the last winter transfer window. However, after about five months, the Colombian international moved to Fenerbahçe, where he plays under Portuguese coach José Mourinho and alongside Brazilian Anderson Talisca, the former Al-Nassr striker. Against the other big four Saudi teams, Duran played two matches against Al-Ahli and Al-Hilal, scoring two goals in the first, leading his team to a 3-1 victory. However, his suspension for receiving four yellow cards prevented him from participating against Al-Ittihad.
