Summer Breaks Third World Record
Young Canadian swimmer Summer McIntosh broke her third world record in less than a week by breaking her own personal best in the 400m individual medley early Thursday morning.
Summer won the women's 400m individual medley at the Canadian Trials, clocking four minutes and 23.65 seconds, 0.73 seconds faster than her previous best.
Summer had already broken the world record for the 200m individual medley last Monday, clocking two minutes and 5.70 seconds. This came two days after she had broken the world record for the 400m freestyle by more than a second, finishing in three minutes and 54.18 seconds.
“What an amazing week, Victoria,” Summer wrote on Instagram. “I had so much fun in the pool this week.”
