€10 million determines Bellingham's fate
Borussia Dortmund is racing against time to sign Sunderland's first-choice midfielder, Jude Bellingham, before the Club World Cup in the United States begins on June 14.
The 19-year-old contributed to his team's promotion to the Premier League at the end of last season and was named in the England Under-21 squad for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Slovakia, which begins next Wednesday.
The club must complete the deal for the younger brother of Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham by next Tuesday, the final day of the FIFA transfer window.
Talks are still ongoing between the two clubs, but according to the German newspaper Bild, Sunderland has demanded payment of the €40 million release clause, while Dortmund has offered €25 million plus €5 million in bonuses. It is noteworthy that Job, who previously stated his hope to follow in his brother Jude's footsteps by playing for Dortmund, scored seven goals and provided two assists in 46 Championship appearances last season.
