For the 45th time... Al-Ahly is the Egyptian League champion
Al-Ahly's first football team clinched the Egyptian Premier League title for the 45th time in its history and the third consecutive time, with a 6-0 victory over Pharco, concluding its campaign in the competition. The victory was secured thanks to four goals and an assist from Palestinian Wissam Abu Ali on Wednesday.
Abu Ali opened the scoring from close range, tapping in a low cross from Ahmed Nabil "Koka" in the 10th minute.
Abu Ali doubled his team's lead in the 34th minute with a shot from inside the penalty area, tapping in a low cross from Ashraf Ben Sharqi after a run from Al-Ahly's left flank.
Abu Ali scored the third goal from a direct free kick from the edge of the penalty area in the 61st minute.
Abu Ali completed his hat-trick in the 66th minute, tapping in a low cross from substitute Ali Maaloul.
Hussein El-Shahat scored the fifth goal in the 75th minute with a powerful shot from the right side, tapping in a cross from Abu Ali. In stoppage time, Imam Ashour scored the sixth goal with a powerful shot, crowning a series of precise passes. This victory raised Al Ahly's points tally to 58, leading the standings, while Pyramids FC finished second after a 5-1 victory over Ceramica Cleopatra in their final match of the season.
