Renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Italian Carlo Ancelotti, coach of Real Madrid, has reached a preliminary agreement with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) to coach the Samba team.
Romano wrote on his official X account: "Carlo Ancelotti and Brazil have reached a preliminary agreement for the Italian to coach the Seleção during the 2026 World Cup."
He added: "The offer is valid from June, not after the Club World Cup." He noted that "Real Madrid and Ancelotti are expected to part ways on a positive note, but formal steps will be required in the next stage."
Ancelotti's Era at Real Madrid Is Nearing Its End
Several recent reports have confirmed that Ancelotti's reign at Real Madrid is nearing its end, before the expiration of his current contract, which expires in the summer of 2026, due to poor results.
Real Madrid lost 3-2 to rivals Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final last Saturday, nearly two weeks after exiting the Champions League after losing to Arsenal in the quarterfinals.
