Veteran Dutch coach Louis van Gaal hinted at a possible return to manage his country's national football team amid speculation about who will succeed Ronald Koeman, who resigned after the Netherlands' elimination in the round of 32 following a penalty shootout loss to Morocco.
Van Gaal, who turns 75 next Saturday, has coached the Dutch national team three times, leading them to the World Cup semi-finals in 2014 and again in 2022, reaching the quarter-finals in Qatar.
The former Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United manager has not held a full-time position since then. After overcoming cancer, he worked as an advisor to the board of directors of Ajax Amsterdam.
