Champions League: Arsenal Tops Group with a Perfect Record
Arsenal secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Belgian side Club Brugge in their sixth Champions League group stage match on Wednesday.
Noni Maduekhe opened the scoring for Arsenal in the 25th minute, and then doubled their lead two minutes into the second half. Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli added a third goal in the 56th minute. This win helped Arsenal bounce back from a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League, a result that had also put their lead at the top of the table in jeopardy, as it reduced their advantage over Manchester City to just two points.
Arsenal now sit atop the group with a perfect record of 18 points, while Club Brugge remain in 31st place with four points.
