Before Germany, France loses Dembélé and Barcola
Forwards Ousmane Dembélé and Bradley Barcola will miss the French national team's match for third place against Germany in the UEFA Nations League in Stuttgart on Sunday.
France lost the semi-final on Thursday to Spain, a heavy 5-4, while Germany surrendered a lead against Portugal, losing 2-1.
The French national team's coaching staff announced on Friday that Dembélé suffered a left quadriceps injury, while Barcola suffered a right knee injury and is unfit to play on Sunday. Both players left the training camp early that evening to return to Paris and will not be replaced in the group, according to the same source.
Dembélé and Barcola won the Champions League with their club, Paris Saint-Germain, and are now set to participate in the Club World Cup in the United States from June 14 to July 13. Meanwhile, midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, who missed the semi-final match against Spain, completed a full training session for the first time since the start of the camp.
