Masters Games: The Greens bring their medal tally to 37.
The Saudi Masters team brought their medal tally to 37, including 18 gold, 11 silver, and 8 bronze, during their participation in the World Masters Games (WMG 2025), currently underway in Taipei, Taiwan. This achievement came after winning 13 medals on Wednesday: 7 gold, 5 silver, and 1 bronze.
The Greens' medals came on the fourth day of the tournament in athletics, swimming, and judo. An unprecedented achievement for Saudi Arabia was achieved in the triple jump competition, with Ahmed Fayez, Salem Al-Ahmadi, and Majed Ghazi taking to the podium, winning gold in their age groups. Mohammed Al-Khuwaildi added the bronze medal, completing the Saudi spectacle on the jumping track. In the 110-meter hurdles, Shaker Abdul Jalil won the gold medal, while Attia Al-Shamrani came in second, taking the silver. In the 400-meter race, Youssef Masrahi clinched the gold medal, while Haifa Al-Humaid excelled in the women's category, winning the silver medal.
Shooter Amin Al-Aradi won first place and the gold medal in the discus throw, strengthening Saudi Arabia's tally in the throwing competitions at the Games.
Swimmer Youssef Al-Youssef continued his impressive performance by winning the gold medal in the 200-meter breaststroke, adding to his gold medal haul at the tournament. His teammate Abdullah Al-Rasheed won the silver medal in the same race.
In the 100-meter freestyle, swimmer Ali Al-Essa won the silver medal after a race that witnessed intense competition until the final moments. Finally, Bakr Ibrahim Haroun brought Saudi Arabia the silver medal in the 55+ judo competition, following a strong performance that demonstrated the Green Falcons' superiority and strong competitiveness in all competitions.
